New Athens, Illinois Training Focuses on Activating Personal Networks The New Athens Home for the Aged, a skilled nursing community in New Athens, Illinois, engaged Lockwood Marketing to conduct a 2-session in-service training for their employees and board members on January 24. John Greaves and Kerri Steffan presented a program designed to illustrate the benefits that the care team brought to residents and their families and to motivate them to reach out to their personal networks for additional potential residents. New Athens is in a rural area in Southern Illinois and has experienced a drop in population and services over the last two decades. With the loss of the town doctor, medical referrals dried up, leaving the New Athens Home in a precarious position. Lockwood Marketing designed a new identity for the New Athens Home, along with a full set of sales materials, print advertisements and outdoor banners. More importantly, the Home's Executive Director received enhanced outreach training to complement their new Medicare certification. The result has been a significant improvement in occupancy and a much stronger presence in the community. |
